Are Squier electric guitars the best bang for the buck?

With Squier releasing the new Classic Vibe series guitars coming in under $350, these may just be the guitars for you. Don’t get me wrong, there are many fine guitars on the market. With $700+ in hand, you would have a hard time going wrong with any US built Fender, Gibson, PRS etc.

However, in today’s economy, and let’s just say you are new to guitar, spending that kind of money may not be what you had in mind. If so, let me direct your attention to Squier guitars. I do not work for Fender/Squier, but I do have experience with their products. In fact, my favorite guitar is a 1996 Mexican made Squier strat.

…and there it is!

Beauty eh?

Why is it my favorite? It is a very comfortable guitar, and it has had zero issues. Is it the best guitar I own or have owned? Probably not, I have owned Gibsons, USA Fenders, Peavey Wolfgangs and a bunch of other guitars. Most of them I sold or traded, just because I lost interest in them for one reason or another, or for no reason at all. This Squier however has stuck on me. Maybe, paying a whopping $75 for it at a pawn shop, has something to do with it. Regardless, of the price though, it is a great guitar, all around.

Squier fans, like myself, are not all that uncommon. There are many people who search high and low for USA or Japan built Squiers. Many claiming them to be some of the best guitars ever built.

So now we have these new Squiers on the scene. The Classic Vibe Series. A Stratocaster and a Telecaster. There is also the new Deluxe series, which at even a lower price, I hope to check out soon.

My friend just picked up the Classic Vibe 50’s Tele, he has nothing but the highest praise for it.

It sure looks nice…

Hopefully, I can get a full review from him soon. In the meantime, if you go to guitarmad.com you can hear a sound sample of it on the front page.I’m looking forward to grabbing a new Squier soon. I’ll let you all know what I think of it.
